  • Plan removal of old film and care around demisters, antennas and sensors.

Start your brief with these questions

  • What are the vehicle make, model and year?
  • Which exact windows need film, and is any film already fitted?
  • Do you want workshop fitting or a mobile visit, if available?

What needs to be checked before fitting front-window tint?

Can old film be removed without damaging the rear demister?

An initial brief does not book work or confirm a product. The chosen installer should assess your vehicle's existing glazing and proposed windows.

Frequently asked questions

Car window tinting: your questions

Practical answers to help you plan your project.

Does factory privacy glass mean I do not need window film?

Factory privacy glass and added film are different. Identify which windows already have tinted glass and compare the exact film’s documented glare and solar-control properties before deciding whether an additional treatment is useful.

Is ceramic tint always the best choice?

Compare the exact grade, visible light transmission, total solar energy rejection, appearance and warranty. Ceramic describes a film family; it does not establish one performance level or a legal shade for every window.

What suitability checks are needed for car window tinting?

Windscreen and front side-window rules apply to the combined glass and film. An installer must assess the existing glass; a film percentage alone does not establish road legality. Professional or specialist assessment is recommended.
